Authors Purpose Task Cards

Perfect for students in Years 3, 4 and 5! Includes 32 task cards for your students to practice determining the author’s purpose using the P.I.E acronym (Persuade, Inform or Entertain). A big time saver for teachers who wish to differentiate instruction during lessons as there are plenty of different styles of texts and levels of vocabulary. Students read through the text then identify the purpose of various texts (P.I.E) and explain why they think so. Also includes an answer sheet for easy marking!

This resource can be printed out and laminated for teachers to use these cards over and over again or simply display the file on your Smart Board in the classroom for students to work on tasks together.

Exactly what a teacher needs when they have early finishers and they are working with a child/children and need others to continue working independently.
